Supply chain benchmark system
While the sectoral benchmarks above are a valuable step, in practice many business operations do not fit easily into any of the 123 sectors of the SIC (Standard Industrial Classification). It makes more sense to look at key supply chains as integrated operations.
Work is in progress on 'structural path analysis' of all interactions between industries from the input-output tables. In the meantime a simpler approach is illustrated here, with material resource productivity indicators from the food supply chain.
