Eco-Build NW - Introduction

The resource flow agenda for construction & the built environment

Introduction

This module takes the benchmarking concept, and applies it to the construction sector. This is a major challenge - construction involves a huge diversity of activities and materials, with many supply chains upstream, and many impacts downstream. It is also interesting as the sector which links between the Regional Economic Strategy and the Regional Spatial Strategy.

Here we show some extracts from the Eco-region research:

  • The context of 'sustainable construction'
  • Evidence on resource flows from the REAP data
  • An outline for a sustainable construction benchmarking system, to be developed in phase 2

Further reports and workbooks are available in the resource section.
