NW Reality Check

An interactive ‘NW Reality Check’ is being launched, which will report to the NWDA Annual Conference on 4th October 2006. This will use the unique interactive toolkit of the Eco-region NW to gauge the long term perspective of key decision-makers, in public, private and civic sectors across the region.

One Planet Economy Network

The UK One Planet Economy Network is being launched through a national consultation process. Based on the REAP data in the Ecological Budget UK project, this is producing an annual Eco-Budget together with a forward strategy for the ecological sustainability of the UK economy. The consultation will report back to a national workshop in late 2006, to pave the way for more detailed policy development.

Sustainable Procurement National Action Plan launched

The independent, business-led Sustainable Procurement Task Force today launched its National Action Plan - 'Procuring the Future'. The National Action Plan highlights the need for government to lead by example, communicate clear priorities, capture opportunities, raise standards and reduce barriers.
