UKFEI Events21 November 2006 - UKFEI Reception in the House of Commons'Celebrating Environmental Innovation' - To mark our achievements over the last five years on Tuesday 21 November 2006 we organised the UKFEI parliamentary reception. Hosted by Barry Sheerman MP, we were 'celebrating environmental innovation' in the Members' Dining Room of the House of Commons. The event aimed to promote and raise the profile of the environmental goods and services (EGS) sector by bringing together MPs, policy advisors, representatives from business and industry bodies, and UKFEI members and partners. The event saw the launch of the revised UK Government Definitions of the EGS Sector and the EGS Sector Mapping Guide. This event was a great opportunity to highlight the EGS sector's inspiring innovation, high growth and vast opportunities for the UK economy. The main event's speakers included Ian Pearson MP, Minister of State for Climate Change and the Environment, Barry Sheerman MP, Peter Jones, Director of External Relations of Biffa Waste Services Ltd, and Jackie Seddon, Chair, UKFEI, and Chief Executive of Envirolink Northwest.
