Newlands at the Sustainable Communities Summit Sustainable Communities Summit
Newlands had a presence at January’s Sustainable Communities Summit (31 January - 2 February 2005 at the GMEX, Manchester) – introducing the project to thousands of regeneration and community professionals from the UK and wider world.

Thanks to the Forestry Commission, Newlands was represented at the Sustainable Communities Summit, held in Manchester at the end of January. Two thousand delegates from the UK, Europe and the wider world attended the summit, where Senior Government Ministers and leading experts spoke on all the issues of sustainable regeneration and community development.

A short Newlands flash movie was played on The Forestry Commission stand throughout the conference and information was also produced to introduce the Public Benefits Recording System (an integral part of the Newlands programme) at the summit.

The summit was a fantastic opportunity to continue raising Newland’s profile at a national and international level and it also demonstrated how committed the partnership is to promoting Newlands. In addition Newlands, was featured in the Summit broadsheet newspaper, Regenerate, which was produced and distribute to the delegates throughout the event, as well as distributed nationally with the magazine title, Regeneration and Renewal after the event.
